Carennac - Église Saint-Pierre
As you pass through the porch up the steps towards the world famous Tympanum of the church of St Pierre, which dates from around 1100, give a thought for the English hordes who during the 100 years war (1337-1453) devastated the cloisters of this beautiful Priory.
This Sunday afternoon it is fitting that a group of distinguished young musicians from the UK are here to repay and repair some of that cultural iconoclasm in the way they know best with a wide-ranging programme of music for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and french horn.
